I wonder how long it will be before the EU announces, Islam is to become the new EU Religion? I can only hope never! They are my twin hates!

But surely there are different forms of Protestant Christianity? And some forms of Christianity oppose liberalism. Over the years there have been many theological disputes over liberalism, and in some quarters the description 'liberalism' is seen as a term of abuse and something to be shunned.

I am not sure that liberalism has much to do with Protestant Christianity, it probably has more to do with atheists like Rousseau and Voltaire? I think a stronger criticism would be to look at what the Church of England people believe and say, and how they behave today, and make a criticism of this. I think, again, you'll find that there are different approaches in the different wings of the C of E. Some of them may be bad, and others of them good.

The Ten commandments for me is a good rule book for life, providing the bit about , "I am a Jealous God, thou should have no other Gods but me," isn't included! If everyone stuck to the Ten Commandments ,except the afore mentioned we wouldn't go far wrong! It would be a pretty dull old life mind you, not coveting your neighbor's Ox or Ass, or the adultery bit! But at least it would be peaceful! Perhaps that's what all those "frightened to die" forerunners of the C of E thought!

I must confess that I had to look them up. Here is a simplified version of them, or rather a simple translation:

1. You shall have no other Gods but me.
2. You shall not make for yourself any idol, nor bow down to it or worship it.
3. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
4. You shall remember and keep the Sabbath day holy.
5. Respect your father and mother.
6. You must not kill.
7. You must not commit adultery.
8. You must not steal.
9. You must not give false evidence against your neighbour.
10. You must not be envious of your neighbour's goods. You shall not be envious of his house nor his wife, nor anything that belongs to your neighbour.

Kernow - you say that you have a problem with 1, but I would include 2, 3 and 4. The rest are spot on, apart from 7 which I am ambivalent towards.

In that case we'll discuss this at another meeting. Is there a particularly good reason why Orangemen should be welcome in DC?

I anticipate you'll be kicking your heels in Coventry for a long time to come.

Lee

We discussed the Orange Order at a meeting years ago and you said they are still fighting the Battle of the Boyne. So far not a single Orangeman has even contacted DCHQ about anything, so I presume they are still fighting the Battle of the Boyne.

Whoever told you that DC has a branch in Coventry? David Nellist had a few DC leaflets shoved through his letterbox...
