The only problem I have with home education is, it does tend to cocoon children. In this life we have to meet and mix with other human beings and school is a good place to start learning about nice and nasty people! Education wise I think a lot of home educated children have a better education than a lot of state school children.

Not as far as I'm aware - and I have many contacts in the HE community. However, it is undeniable that they are trying to make it more difficult for lower and middle class people. This abolishing Income Support business is just one measure being implemented.
