Default Who wants a bet

That the top of the MEP lists is the same by the time of the election?

I would hazard a guess that these people listed in the last paragraph of this blog post are "the ones" to paraphrase John McCain.

I hope that what you are saying Aardvark isn't true and that people aren't forced out of their positions on the list in favour of others.

You're way to cynical, Drew! I worked with Greg Beaman in Crewe, and I think it fantastic that he topped the poll - even if I couldn't vote for him!

Let's hope Marta shows sense and picks London, so Steve can get a fair chance at MEP, too!

If there are changes, I would hazard to guess they are for pretty good reasons. After all there are one or two who is´f the facts were known in 2004 would have been best expunged.

Surely that element of candidate selection has been covered by the use of enhanced CRB checks (the ones that rely on rumour and allegation as well as the PNC)? Of course, as rumour, allegation and the odd fine or arrest without charge all come under the category of "other information", there would have been the possibility of some interesting pre-hustings chats (along the lines reported by Tim Worstall in his blog Those Enhanced CRB Checks).

Obviously there will be changes. All those who got voted for more than once (by different voters in different regions) will need to make up their minds which region to stand in.

I'm afraid Trixy-Woo let the cat out of the bag a bit early though.

What a ludicrous bet.Anyway UKIP will lose almost all its MEPs at the next election.Farage will remain along with one or two others.

Nigel will then jump ship to the Tories just like I have done.He was always far less right-wing than me anyway although I have moved so far to the left lately I'm not sure that is still the case.

Why not take out a great bet AND show your commitment to racial justice by supporting Barack Obama the next president of the USA?

Go on then Gawain. You are one of the Brussels contingent.
Tell us who they are, why they should be expunged (very Stalinist word) and why this should be done now, AFTER the allegedly democratic vote for the members.
Why should we bother to have a membership vote after the enhanced CRB checks if the votes become meaningless because the Brussels contingent don't like who the membership voted for? Even though the vote was allowed to take place although the rules regarding dual candidature were clearly broken, and known about in advance?
Or is this to become a one man, one vote regime? with one man having the vote.
It seems you and Annabelle (has she been re-employed?) know more about this than the unpaid, non-foreign resident, members.
