The quality of the UKIP campaign will be absolutely crucial.

Hopefully lots of video of Nigel verbally beating up the various Euphiles in and outside of the EU "parliament" along with some heavy negative campaigning concentrating on the shortcomings of Conservative MEP's and the rigged internal Tory elections.

Interesting concept. Both the Tories and Labour are noted for ensuring that sitting MEPs stay sat, as it were. It's hardly rigged if everybody knows the score beforehand. Or do you have some juicy gossip?

It seems to met the most revealing aspect of the poll, so far, is that although the predictions for MEPs ranges from 0 - above 10, 70% believe UKIP will decline whatever the number of MEPs elected.

This reflects the fact that the number of MEPs seems to have little bearing on the primary purpose of the party, up until now, which is to change our relationship with the EU - which can only be achieved through the HofC.

NF might wish for the EU elections to be a referendum on the LT, but, incidentally, this poll is turning out to be a mini referendum on the quality of NF's leadership.

I thought this story was well understood, but here's some background:

Thanks for the information. Not everybody has the time to read Conservative Home regularly.

The head of candidate selection is the europhile Maples.I doubt an anti-EU leader would have appointed such.
