"[OFFENSIVE REMARKS BY LEGIN DELETED BY MOD]"

Jebus people: I realise that politics is a dirty game but please, can we at least try to act like civilised people? Adults even?

These sorts of scabrous insults wouldn't even be worthy of a playground fight let alone those old enough to vote.

Yes, I know, I know Annabelle so you can put it down to partiality if you like: I'd prefer to call it just basic civility myself.

Tim very well said. It seems some are incapable of civility on these threads and then criticise others for not bowing to their self perceived superiority.

The comments you reference are quite clearly not Legin's but Greg-Lance Watkins. The general incoherence and the gratuitous insults and name calling are his trademark. The fact that the post refers to EUkip is further evidence.

John West clearly doesn't think it is that terrible - witness his desire to stay active within UKIP. He clearly doesn't think it a big deal, so why should I?

That was my point You were the one accusing him of less than honest reasons for staying in.

Good grief more semantics. It makes absolutely no sense whatever to wish to actively engage with and work for a party who you wish to see taken to the cleaners. It also makes no sense if one wishes to regain ones credibility to feed the likes of GLW and then one assumes agree to legin if he isn't GLW to post such stuff. I'm sorry AB, what ever damage the Video may or may not have done to JW's credibility what he is party to now rather puts the nails in his coffin. By trying to drag others into this, it seems, for merely knowing or working with Annabelle is despicable.

Well, it just doesn't add up does it? John West claims that he wishes to remain active in UKIP, both as a branch chairman and as a PPC! At the same time he is apparently so outraged by the release of his interview video on Youtube that he has reported the party for violating the Data Protection Act, thereby possibly causing damage to the party. Therefore it would follow that either he isn't as outraged as he makes out, or he is delusional. If he was truly outraged by his treatment at the hands of the party hierarchy we would expect him to pull a Richard Suchorzewski or an Anthony Butcher and leave, which could be considered a reasonable course of action in the circumstances (although wrong in my opinion). If on the other hand his public outrage is a sham, then we must wonder about the true motivation behind his threats of legal action?

In the circumstances do you honestly believe that John West would continue with his threatened legal action against the party if an offer of a top spot on the Eastern Region's MEP list were made to him?

mrabody, there is of course another hypothesis. He could be just hoping he is made such and offer and then could then really twist the knife. What I do know is there is a lot of scaremongering going on at an NEC level to destabilise the party further. Let's hope the NEC stands firm and doesn't allow this action to weaken it.
