Interesting. I am sure that John West claimed that he was told by Christopher Gill that he had failed based on the media interview, which really didn't seem bad to me. Obviously Mr Gill was mistaken, unless he was making individual decisions about the suitability of candidates.

However I don't know what the other candidates were like, because Annabelle's taxi driver's Moroccan friend forgot to upload the others

Anthony, I have not heard anything that would confirm your assertions about my region and I am in touch with all the main protagonists. What I would say however is that Knapmans hostility and down right venom towards the leadership and party would have been a major factor in my region given his undoubted popularity. In my view it's good for the region and the party he is going, it's a shame that others are too, but we have a strong group of candidates.

Thanks very much for you reply. It does, though, sadden me as someone who as a young person back in the early 1990's supported the concept of UKIP before it was created and have supported the party ever since I became awware of it in 1994. I hope, if indeed UKIP is in your thoughts regarding legal action, that you will reconsider upon reflection taking any action against it or indeed Ms Fuller.

It is said that Ms Fuller is extremely competent at her job, but appears to lack maturity in a personal context. I do not know the lady personally but if the former is true, and the latter was known then just perhaps her employment development should have reflected this. It seems we have lost an able but naive party employee.

Naivety is not a defence to allegedly breaking the criminal law as any policeman would know. It does, however, appear to be no bar to being a UKIP PPC.

Clive, Thanks for the much needed clarification. It is important that the selection process is transparent and understood by all of the membership. I don't suppose it's been published anywhere?

Sorry, I will not change my mind, Annabelle had ample time to retract her statement, in fact a week later and still nothing. Money (or lack of it) is the most affective way, in my opinion, of getting people to tell the trueth! If Annabelle has to be made bankrupt so be it! I have done it before!

How on earth can you support someone who is so stupid, in my opinion, as to libel a person on the forum?

Would you accept a public apology and retraction from her here instead? (she hasn't offered, I just would like to offer her an alternative)

Peterc, I am not supporting anyone merely reporting how the lady was perceived on a professional level, and I would also caution that my sources tell me there is no love loss between Clive and Annabelle. Aardvark I never suggested it was, merely restating the view of someone who knows her extremely well. As for the rest of the cheap shot, I will let it go.
