Default The UKIP Warchest

Ok, so UKIP needs some serious money to compete in the next election. While big donors play their part, I think the grassroots have a role to play too. That's why I have started this pledge on pledgebank:

http://www.pledgebank.com/UKIPpledge

and I expect you all to sign it.

In theory I have signed it but in practice I think the confirmation email is being delivered by hand. :?

It will be up there as soon as it comes through, assuming it does!

Do you really believe the problem is money?
You should try getting UKIP activists to pledge to wear out some shoe leather.

Money, like everything has its role to play. I'll happily walk the streets, I did it for the Tories, and I'll happily do it for UKIP.

I would say, absolutely, that the grassroots should be the major financial contributor to UKIP.
UKIP should have had their fill of the whims and wiles of its multi-millionaire backers of the past.

In the last general election where I stood the sitting Labour candidate used a team of paid delivery people.

No volunteers to cajole, and did nothing himself. He got back in - of course.

Must have paid them peanuts in order to stay within the spending rules.

If you earn more than 20 quid an hour and you have the chance to do OT, thus look good at your workplace too, then you have to ask yourself whether you should be doing the leaflets, when you could have an army out doing it for you.

I have just been doing a load more BOO leaflets, but then I want the exercise as a side benefit.

Say 30,000 addresses and pay 5p for each, that's only £1500. Peanuts.
