So do I, but unless people see a real option, they won't come over to UKIP in any kind of numbers.

The reason UKIP has been getting all the donors and activists of late, is the fact UKIP have better options on a wide range of policies now, all thanks to us not being restricted by the EU straight jacket.

HQ is struggling to respond to all the new membership applications now, again this is a disaster in my mind, as people will not get a good impression if their membership isn't processed quickly. That's the organisation side of things so many of us were and still are deeply concerned about.

All the great media work etc won't mean jack, if we don't capitalise on it.

If they sort that side of things out, then UKIP could well cause the Tories to split, which as Peter Hitchens says, is fundemental in this country getting the opposition party it really needs.

Presumably that is why Pearson &co have joined up .They have no interest in UKIP as anything other than a catalyst for change .They have given up on the Conservatives under Cameron ever getting us out of the EU .Only a rapid realignment can have a chance of doing that before we are locked into serfdom.

I think UKIP will be a major part of whatever materialises in the end, but realistically, it is going to have to be a combination of parties/elements that come together in the end.

If HQ is flooded with membership applications that means they have more cash so they hire a few more people to process them.

There is no excuse for struggling to handle extra cash.

The very same - so what is your point??

In the 6 months I was there I witnessed first hand the trouble UKIP has at its centre. I fear little has changed and until it does UKIP will not be as effective as it should be.

Of course, if the new members join at branch or regional level, then HQ don't get the dosh... Still, all new members are very welcome, wherever they join :P

You all write policies and posture in a self congratulatory manner but it will be British patriots who will redeem our democratic independent sovereignty working on one the one issue that mastters.......
GETTING US OUT OF THE EU.
The EU is part problem, but not the only problem. We have a major problem with crime, a poor education system, mass immigration, high taxes etc ... UKIP needs to continue developing radical stand alone policies in all of these areas. These policies will allow us to get on platforms and have more to say than lest get out of the EU. It will also change the perception that we are a bunch of nutters with an obsesive compulsive disorder with the EU.
I'm with Niall on this one! The EU is the major cancer that all other cancers in our society stem from. This Country has a major immigration problem, both legal and Illegal simply because we no longer have control of our borders which leads to criminals and now terrorists moving in and out and and freely around our Country, because of imposed EU human rights laws, we can no longer kick undesirable foreigners out of our Country, because of EU human rights law we can no longer impose the punishment that criminals deserve, because of EU human rights teachers have lost the power to impose any sort of discipline in schools, children who run riot in school learn nothing other than the fact they can run riot and nobody can do anything about it! Britain has a housing problem simply because of mass immigration caused by us being in the EU. Britain pays the EU £41 million a day for the privilege of being told what to do! Taxes are rising just because of the extra expense being in the EU has caused Britain!
