It was announced with great sadness yesterday that the brilliant and popular comedy actress Mollie Sugden, who was one of the main characters in the hugely successful British 1970s/1980s comedy television series Are You Being Served, has died:

An episode of Are You Being Served was shown on BBC 2 on a Friday evening last month.

I hope the BBC broadcast the whole series again.

In one American state a broadcaster will be showing a special tribute programme to The Late Mollie Sugden on 5.7.2009. She was very popular in the USA - as she was, of course, here too.
