It can be hard to measure unless you are both happy drinking the same drink. Some people are better on beer, some better on spirits. I'd fancy my chances giving most people a run for their money with Guinness but wouldn't dream of it with vodka.

I drink cider but could go a good way on Whisky, Vodka, Beer or Lager.

Just remember Angleman their is nothing big a clever nor socially higher placing about drinking a few glasses of wine at a dinner party.
It is in short a waste of a life.

why would I need to remember that drinking a particular drink does not improve your social standing? I thought that we might have covered this point before. As for class, why do you always feel the need to bring it up?

I am not sure what is "a waste of life". Social climbing or drinking wine or both?

I was recently in a pub, and saw two posters in the Gents. I particularly like the second one (although it is a little less simple these days).

Hard work takes it out of a man. Beer puts it back. So when you feel you’ve earned your beer, the fact is that you need it.
Duke’s son or cook’s son, master or man, in the inn or tavern all men are equal. For centuries this has been the place where citizens have met to exchange views and news; the very school of democracy! And where will you find a better accompaniment to your talk than a pint of beer? For you and the next man, beer is best!
