    Are we a democracy?

On the basis that we are a democracy - even though a representative democracy, nevertheless this should mean that the actions of the government are in keeping with the will of the people.

Can anyone think of any current arrangements where this clearly is not the case.

    I will start with:

It is not the will of the people that immigration, in this crowded country, is any more than is absolutely necessary.

It is not the will of the people that healthy minority groups are given any special advantages.

It is not the will of the people that the UK has either political or economic ties with the EU.

It is the will of the people to protest within one kilometre of parliament.

It is the will of the people that parliament should create the laws which govern our streets?

And most importantly, it is the will of the people that we use an interest FREE currency!

NO NATION OF PEOPLE ARE FREE, WITH A RULERSHIP THAT CHARGES THE NATIONS PEOPLE TO USE THEIR CURRENCY, so says the auto-cue.

Is it also not the will of the English people who want their own parliament and government to represent them?

Why do people keep saying things like "this is not a democracy" like its some sort of radical or controversial statement?

Of course it's not a democracy, no-one even seriously pretends it is.

The only way you will get a mainstream politician to even say democracy is if they add pluralistic or liberal in order to make sure its understood when they say democracy they actually mean the Status Quo. They don't even pay lip service like American politicians do to the idea of the rule of the people.

The UK is either an Aristocracy, ruled by an ideologically self selecting elite class, or a Kleptocracy depending on your view point; or possibly both.

I don't wana put my gloves on, but if you're too thick to think for yourself

How do we educate these unthinkers? When i tell my closest family members, they think im bonkers, my mum listens, and i can see she believes but she doesn't want to because its too much to take in. You can't go on and on and on and on and on and on and on about it, cos that alienates them.

My worry is that they'll realise when its too late, and i'll say, i told ya

Anyone who thinks we have freedom or democracy, is living in cloud cuckoo land.
