Anyone who has committed a crime - indigenous or non-indigenous - deserves punishment of some kind, surely? The article goes into no detail but I think to say automatically that this is "persecution" is a step too far.

I agree that sometimes there are hasty conclusions drawn that whenever a white man murders a black man it is automatically racially motivated, but as I said, there aren't enough details for you to start drawing a conclusion yet.
