I think you're all missing the point. This is not about bloodlines but about press reporting and alleged criminality.

First the Manchester Evening News implies the police officer was "ethnic" without saying what he/she was, but he may have been Scots, Yorkshire, or whatever. It is sly press stuff leading to innuendo.

Second, he has been charged ONLY with "racially abusing a police officer" but not for any illegal activity within the store. Did some security guard just pounce on him for no apparent reason. We are not told what led to this arrest, other than the alleged abuse.

Until we know the full facts, this is just another instance of sloppy journalism.

REPLY: What a daft comment. Besides which, if we are to use the term 'mongrel', then DNA studies prove the obvious - namely that as island peoples, we are far less 'mongrel' than most of our counterparts on the continent (except for the Scandicavian countries).

I and I am sure many others will agree that classifying a crime as a hate crime because it contains racial or sexist comments and treating it more seriously is absurd and indicative of the insanity of the "great and good" ruling classes

A crime is a crime and the punishment should not be increased because of this looney toons gimmick

A very pure people indeed.
Portugese have the highest amount of Sub-Saharan DNA in Western Europe which is about 6% in Portugal.
