Default A quick question for Gordon Brown fans

Hi,
i am a university student, currently doing a case study on the Labour party and Gordon Brown.
I think this site is a great way to talk to the nation about their views.

What do people think about Gordon Brown? does he have any good points?
is there anything unique about Gordon Brown?

any responses would be kindly appreciated, claire

Could the post / thread be directed Labour Party General Issues. Might be better placed there.

Not an answer, Claire, but perhaps i could pose a question - are you looking for comments just about Gordon Brown (or the labour party more generally)?

Cleya2: Gordon Brown is entitled to be addressed as Dr Brown, holding a Ph.D. That may be unique, certainly since 1900. Can you identify another British PM who had 'an earned PhD', as opposed to an honourary one, from any party? They may exist but one doesn't readily come to mind. Brown also achieved what has been claimed to be the best First Class Honours degree at Edinburgh University since 1945. He also had a romatic affair with an Eastern European princess while at Edinburgh.

UkIP has an unfortunate objection to those who have reach doctoral level: Dr Richard North, Dr. David Abbott, Dr Eric Edmond, etc. We have a reputation for being an anti-intellectual party, and in a socially mobile society, that is not a good reputation to have.

Being educationally advanced to those around him obviously scares the do-do out of Farage and the intellectually challenged cabal that are hanging on to his every lie.

A Very Serious Question,Would you invest any money with/in UKIP?

SponPlaque: Oh come Rob, are you saying that Professor Condon doesn't have a future in UKIP just because he has a couple of 'O' Levels. Shame on you boy!

You should have found a more original and interesting subject.

david h: What could be more original and interesting than a middle-class boy from the manse, finding himself an impoverished princess, in order to get a better understanding of the working class. You have no need to answer - I don't wish to intrude- but it would be nice to know if you have found yourself a princess, impoverished or not. Karl Marx was married to lady from the lesser aristocracy, There is a long history of this kind of thing in the Labour Party. On being elected Prime Minister, Ramsay MacDonald said, 'Now every duchess in London will want to kiss me'. Sorry david h, you seem to have scant understanding of we proletarian chappies.
