Supporting an attack on a country with no real solid evidence why one should take action to completely anniliate them is neither naive or self -defeating.

To think it was the right thing to happen or it had to happen to protect us from those nasty evil terrorists, is incredibly naive and typical of those who believe the media without questioning the real source of the supposed information or 'news'.

Welcome k - would you like to make a more succinct version of your opening post - for those of us who have washing to peg out.
These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Thomas Paine, The Crisis

What do you mean by 'no real solid evidence'?

What has taken place in Iraq is not annhilation. You fail to understand the meaning of the word, or the events of the last 6 years, or both.

The classic 'anti-war' strawman argument. Well done. I suppose you HAVE questioned the sources of your argument?

No. If you are sufficiently interested in seeing a great speech on the freedom OF speech then you will read it. If you can't be bothered, then don't. Your loss.

Ummm, that there isn't any. Unless of course you believe that a guy in a bunker is fully responsible?

Oh right, so the destruction of stuff (like buildings and people) isn't annihilation?

Yes I have thankyou - it's called research and doesn't come from the U.S main news feed or the BBC.

My argument for anti-war is the ONLY people who benefit from war are the fat cats in charge of the banks - no one else ever does.

What on EARTH are you on about? Man in a bunker?

Oh right, so the destruction of stuff (like buildings and people) isn't annihilation?
    No, it isn't.

Good, I'm glad you're satisfied with your research. Do you not think that the Aziz/Ekeus affair is suspicious, and undermines your contention?

But you aren't anti-war, are you?

You ought to be anti-Iraq if you're a Libertarian, since it was the coercion of people through force, paid for with THEFT (tax) for the STATIST SOCIALIST WAR MACHINE in the form of the military. It must take tremendous doublethink to support a war waged by multiple governments through tax funds to force people in another country to play nicer.
