$13.6 billion's worth of financial sense if you are one of the firms promoting it. BP announces their profits are up 23% on the oil price hike. Remember this is at a time when nearly every other business is feeling the chilling winds of a credit crunch.
So how do they manage it? I'll tell you how, its called price fixing. Something that is normally policed by the state and illegal. However the oil market is global and so not one state can do a lot on their own. Indeed, but they don't even have the will to intervene. Why is this? I'll tell you why, its because BP has gone green and every government knows that one way to stop people producing plant food (CO2) is to price it out of their reach. However, much of the energy is needed rather than being a luxury item and so in order to cut down on demand the price has to go sky high. A neat trick, don't you think. Everyone assumes oil companies are against global warming. A perfect disguise to hide the deal struck between them, the central bankers and their puppet governments.

And of course the government make more in taxes of various types on the back of this - who cares if some people die in the winter as long as the fat cats and pigs keep their snouts in the trough - almost enough to make you a socialist

The Tories announced that the tax on oil should be more of a fixed amount rather than a percentage. Labour's reply was something that was a mathematical lie. They said that it would amount to a tax cut and said it was stealing money from essential services, whatever they are supposed to be.
The degree to which a government is socialist is pretty much reflected in the level of tax, and so both the government and oil companies alike are laughing at us. Labour can keep both parents working all hours so the they make the money for the state to raise their children at day care centres and fully indoctrinate them in all things socialist. The children will think the state is their friend; after all it was the state that provided for them and not their parents. Oh and all those green taxes will help to kill off all the old people quickly as well. Hypothermia would be a good vote winner for them. Most people by that age have fully figured out what goes on and will never vote for them. Immigrants will though. I mean free money and getting priority on the housing lists and all of that would bring in a new class of Labour supporter. One in four births in this country are now from immigrants.

Oh and to put another figure on it, in the papers the other day it said wholesale gas and electricity prices have recently risen by over 90% recently. How do you explain that? Has it suddenly become a lot more expensive to pump oil out of the ground or gas? Has there been some global increase in demand all of a sudden or is it that government's conspire to let these prices go through the roof? More tax for the governments concerned and more chance of meeting EU carbon targets! What are they playing at? Food up 140% since 2002 as well due to biofuels.

Because they think that oil companies would have the incentive to sell more energy and would loose money as a result of people going green. However the precise opposite now seems to be the case.
Did you know BP invested £400 million in a brand new biofuel refinery recently? It's guaranteed to do well because the EU forces people to buy from them. It's one of the EU directives.
