None of those groups even approach the 100,000 figure first touted. Also, I wonder how much overlap there is, i.e. how many people are in more than one of those groups?

And as I said before, that group has nothing to do with being English over being British. The other groups you listed don't even come close to matching that figure - suggesting that popularity of the "English not British" mentality is over estimated.

Especially as there are NO current equivalent "Groups" for

Welsh, Scottish & Irish

ie

I'm Welsh NOT British

I'm Scottish NOT British

I'm Irish NOT British

These DO NOT exist
