Alexandra Ward, LB Haringey. LD hold. LD 1460 (49.9%, -6), Lab 772 (26.4%, +5.9), Con 443 (15.2%, +6.4), Green 221 (7.6%, -7.2), BNP 27 (0.1%, +0.1). Swing of 6% from LD to Lab since 2006. . This is in marginal Hornsey & Wood Green LD parliamentary constituency.

So the Lib Dem vote in 2006 was 56%,the Labour vote was 18.5%,the Green vote was 14.8%,and the Tories on 8.5%;a very unusual ward.

Another great result for the BNP saying that White British people are a ethnic minority within Haringey, forming just 45% of the population.

The spin being placed on this is somewhat amusing. I will assume 'Purging the Liberal' and 'Keyser Soze' actually oppose the BNP as it is (almost) beyond credible that a genuine BNP supporter could have something positive to say about the result they acheived there.

I personally think if UKIP had contested this ward the party would have received more votes than the BNP but not by a terribly wide margin. Therefore I have no criticisim of the local UKIP branch for not having a candidate there.
