Default Wickersley, Rotherham Dc, 28/8/08

Result

Labour 871
Con 821
BNP 538
UKIP 373
LibDem 191

Labour gain, maj 50.

This ward was one where UKIP polled very well in May 2008, however there was no BNP candidate. The BNP fought the by-election and turned in an impressive performance, beating UKIP yet again. The combined votes of the two parties was 911, reinforcing disillusionment with the established parties. Nice to see the LibDems bottom of the pile.

Another example where the combined BNP/UKIP vote would have taken the seat and where the BNP beat the UKIP candidate-Labour must be laughing their socks off.

Well done BNP a good result, Rotheram is showing real good potential. Marlene seems to be working wonders down there.

So would the BNP/Tory combined vote. The BNP probably have more in common with the Tories anyway.

So why is it often said that the BNP is taking votes from Labour?

What more do the BNP have in common with the Tories, than with UKIP?

Well done BNP. Shame UKIP split the vote. If they had not, most of the UKIP vote would then have made the BNP winners. As stated above, "Labour must be laughing their socks off". UKIP keeps Labour in power!

So what you are A66 is the public should not or cannot vote for who they may fell like voting for then?, and that the BNP has the right to stop other party's that may stand on some of the same ideas but have a different view point from standing.

So should UKIP just subsume itself within the BNP A66? If that is your view it is not very realistic. Though I am heartened by your claim that UKIP keeps Labour in power. If UKIP is of such significance, in your view, the party can't be as irrelevant as is often suggested by some here.
