A vociferous opponent of liberal trends in the Tory Party he resigned the Tory whip at one point and as early as 1957 vigorously opposed Britain's membership of the EEC and its hideous successor the EU. A great patriot and nationalist, he will be missed in an age of political mediocrity and lack of idealism. Full obituary available in the Daily Telegraph.
