They stood over 600 council candidates alone in council seats in England and Wales in 2008.

As for money that wont be a problem to raise now, the systems are in place. The party wanted to raise £350k for the European Elections it raised over £600k.

The Party already has 100K surplus funds.
I don't want to put any local info about the BNP in the public domain, however, where I live the BNP will certainly NOT be standing, and we have the only organized group for many miles around. There will also be no candidates in our county as there is no one to sort out candidates etc etc.
Obviously in many areas things are different, but out in the sticks this is the position. I would point out that we stood quite a number of candidates in the CC elections, and there is talk of just one of our people possibly standing in London somewhere.

I can't see why you feel it would be so difficult. All that's needed is the cash and the signatures, bada bing bada boom.
Sophistication? Sophistication? Don't talk to me about sophistication, I've been to Leeds!

First of all our votes in the CC elections were not great, so we are not going to get a good GE vote, secondly although HQ might pay the deposits we haven't got any money to pay for election material! The CC election cost us a fortune, also anyone with knowledge will know where the rest of branches/groups money went!!

So there we have it, it is pointless standing if you are going to get a **** vote etc etc.

Its quite simple, it isn't a local decision. HQ make all the decisions on whether we stand or not, if they say we stand all seats we stand all seats. You dont have to be local to stand, someone at the most Northern part of Scotland can stand in the most southern point of England.

I guess being in the centre of things in the NW you get a different view of events than us in the SE, I say how things are not how we would like them to be. Lets wait and see what happens.

Yeh, but it wouldnt be hard to get areas covered with no activity as all you need is someone willing to stand (we have more than enough) and 10 signatures from a constituency. So it is pretty easy, the hardest part is the finance getting £500 per constituency.
