Bob FM, You don't think Whittaker's e-mail, couched badly and showing contempt for the law, or the posting by a UKIP 'person' of private data on an international website brings UKIP into disrepute? How very revealing.
Whittaker's e-mail, leaked but confirmed as real, is all that you will ever be allowed to hear of the 'other side'.
What do you think is the other side's argument - that it was in the public interest to out John West, that it was an innocent mistake, that an unnamed taxi driver let his mate access and copy data from a computer he found in the back of the cab?
Why, if innocent of any wrongdoing, did a senior UKIP staffer come back from holiday and resign over a lost laptop? The MoD would be devoid of senior officers if every lost laptop caused a resignation.
I admire your loyalty, as I would admire the loyalty of a poodle for its owner, but you really need to wise up to the political world you find yourself in. Politics is a lot dirtier than you seem to imagine. Few of us are good Christian men and women. I try my hardest to be honourable and fair, but even I have a very nasty streak when I am roused. Nobody ever stabbed me in the back twice and got away with it.
The debates on this forum raise a lot of hackles and hundreds of people follow them. You'd be surprised by the people who communicate with me and their motives. I don't want to wish away my life, but by the end of the year you will be thoroughly disillusioned. There's a lot happening that you are not privy to; I'm not in every circle, but I overlap shall we say.
I think in your heart you are a good man. UKIP is full of good men, but the very few rotten apples are close to the top of the barrel and the stench of fermentation and decay could become overwhelming.
