Having home educated my kids (with my wife) for some years before they chose to attend secondary school (yes, we were that good!

) I feel at least partially qualified to comment.
My wife and I home educated whilst living from my sole income and we did great. I would go along with the arguement that a tax break would have come in handy but I would happily forego that to continue to let people enjoy the right to educate their children independently.
The trouble these days is that, with so many one-parent families, home-education means living from benefits. I don't believe in forcing people to do anything but if they do not have the means to educate at home, what do you do?
The usual arguements such as Bear trots out are all rubbish; indicative of the kind of "shil" that likes to frequest and stir up trouble on these forums. Home-education isn't perfect and school offers things that home-ed can't. However, given the chance again, I would do the same again, especially during the primary years.
